We are 3 short weeks from finishing our year! I can’t believe that I’m saying that. This year has been full of personal challenges that sought to derail the school year, but we persevered and now the finish line is in sight :). Here’s the highlights from our week…
I was inspired by Jimmie’s 10 Days of Teaching Writing to spend a few weeks on a more standard method of writing. I love Classical Writing and we’ll be sticking with it for next year, but I do thing there is value in teaching princess another way to approach a writing assignment at this stage. So, this week we started working on a research paper about foxes. Princess has completed all her research and written the introduction to her paper. Next week we’ll tackle the body and conclusion, then do some editing. Hopefully it’ll be ready to share with you next Friday.
We’ve made it all the way through the Southwest, so now we just have the West to complete in our state study. Our map is almost complete and it’s looking far better than I imagined it would. I’m going to have a hard time erasing it all at the end of the year!
Here’s what’s been going on around here since my last weekly report…
- Do you ever have trouble remembering things when your husband is gone? I do and I shared all about it in this post last week.
- Want another way to preserve nature? Don’t miss the latest edition of the Science Corner to find out how! I’m also considering writing a weekly summer science series. If you’d be interested in it, leave me a comment and let me know what you’d like to see.
