December 30, 2014 by Paige Hudson

I love science and we homeschool, so I like to consider myself a homeschool scientist. As we step into the new year, I thought that I would share with you twenty ways you can use to determine whether or not you are a homeschool scientist. These may or may not have come from real life experiences, but I will not admit to any specifics. So, here we go! You might be a homeschool scientist … [Read more...]

3 Reasons to make time for science

October 22, 2014 by Paige Hudson

Science is awesome! It is passion of mine which has easily spilled over to my kids. I understand, though, that not everyone shares my passion for science. In fact, it is usually one of the subjects that is passed over in favor of the 3 R’s during the elementary years. I’m here to say that science education in the elementary years is beneficial in so many ways! I know that it takes a bit of … [Read more...]

3 Pieces of advice for your homeschooling journey

September 23, 2014 by Paige Hudson

I have been homeschooling for over nine years now. My daughter is wrapping up her middle school years and very quickly heading toward high school. It is a bittersweet time as I watch my little girl grow up and realize that I will probably be the shortest one in the family! The thing is – I get to start the whole homeschooling journey over again. My kids are eight years apart. It is not … [Read more...]

Homeschool Science Corner ~ Why Teach Science?

April 2, 2014 by Paige Hudson

In my house, science is a subject near and dear to our hearts.  Both my husband and I hold degrees in the field, which means that our kids get a double dose of the subject! Our experiences with science have been overwhelmingly positive. The sad reality is that for many people this is not true. Most of the population cringes when you mention words like chemistry or physics. Science is often … [Read more...]

9/11 I remember…

September 11, 2013 by Paige Hudson

This post is a bit of a departure from my normal homeschool science tips, but on a day like today, I want to honor the memory of those who gave their lives on such a tragic day.   I remember the day started out perfectly normal, I went to work just as always. I remember the phone call from my husband that my manager was handing to me, which was strange because he never called me on … [Read more...]

Welcome to the Elemental Blogging Laboratory

profile picWelcome to the Elemental Blogging Laboratory, a.k.a. the Eb Lab. Here at the lab, I have the pleasure of sharing with you all my passion for mixing up solutions for homeschool science! My name is Paige Hudson. I am a homeschooling mom and science curriculum writer for Elemental Science.

Why do I call this blog the "Eb Lab"? It is because I am scientist at heart and by profession, so it pretty much spills into everything I do. I love to share tips and tools with fellow educators as they seek to share science with their students!

That is what this blog is all about. One homeschooler to another, sharing her area of expertise, seeking to support you as you teach your students about the wonders of science.

So, grab your lab coat, notebook, and goggles...well maybe not the goggles because let's face it nobody looks good in those...and you probably don't have a lab coat lying around your house either...

So, grab a cup of coffee and notebook, and head on in to the Eb Lab to gather tools for homeschool science, tips for homeschooling, and the latest Elemental Science news!
